In 1998 Harold Ensley asked me to go bass fishing in Costa Rica. He forgot to mention that the lake was at the bottom of an active volcano and the fishing lodge was very close by. Every night at 11:30 pm the thunder would start and lava would flow down the side of the volcano. It would last 15 to 30 minutes and the rumble was just like a thunder storm. Hard to believe! What a memory and we did catch some small mouth bass. Harold was an interesting guy, strait laced, went by the book.

He had so many stories about the 50’s and 60’s and how he took all the actors from Gunsmoke and the Beverly Hillbillies fishing. In addition to baseball players, western stars, politicians, and his friend Sam Walton (Walmart).
He was a remarkable guy and truly loved the outdoors. A fishing memory I will never forget!
